On June 15th, we ran a special 46- hour deep drop trip for Father’s day weekend. Saturday, we headed way up north to start our 46- hour trip with great catches of Sea Bass and Blue Line Tile Fish. The Blue Line Tiles were a very good grade of fish, with many of these fish pushing a massive 20 pounds. As Saturday came to a close, we went to fish the deep waters of the canyon. We spent a little bit of time in the deep, but the current was too strong so we went back to catching Blue Line Tiles. On Sunday morning, we planned on spending the day in the deep waters, but the wind picked up and it got too rough. We did catch Black Belly Rose Fish, Wreck Fish, and Barrel Fish before we went back to catching Blue Line Tile Fish and Sea Bass because of the conditions. Our biggest catch was a Blue Line Tile Fish that weighed a total of 21 pounds! Before we headed home, we were also able to catch a 120- pound Hammerhead Shark! We also hooked a 120- pound Mako Shark but unfortunately, we lost it! Overall, this two-day trip was an overwhelming success with all 23 fishermen coming home at 11:00 PM on Father’s Day with coolers abundant with fish! With such a successful 46- hour trip, we are in the process of planning more of these for the summer! You can call us every day between 7 AM and 7 PM at 757-425-3400 if you want to inquire about any future 46- hour trips or reservations for our 17- hour trips that run every Thursday!

Tai and his 50 pound Snowy Grouper!

On June 6, 2013, we set out for our first Thursday 17-hour deep drop trip of the 2013 summer season!  The ride out was a little choppy because of some SE winds but as the day went on, the weather got better and better.  The fishing was also fantastic on this beautiful summer day.  We started at 300 feet reeling in great catches of Sea Bass, and Blue Line Tile Fish.  Then we headed deeper to drop lines at about 600 feet.   Here, our eager fishermen reeled in countless Black Belly Rose Fish, Barrel Fish, Golden Tile Fish, and a couple of Snowy Grouper.  One of these Groupers weighed a whopping  50 pounds!  Overall, it was an excellent day at sea on the Rudee Angler with each fisher bringing home buckets overflowing with fish.  If you are looking to share this experience with us during any of our 17-hour trips this summer, give us a call at 757-425-3400 between 7 AM and 7 PM every day to make a reservation!

With the bad weather   Virginia Beach has been enduring over the past couple weeks, we were so excited to welcome a beautiful sunny day for our 17 hour deep drop trip last Saturday, June 1st.  Because we had to cancel a prior 17 hour trip due to the unfortunate weather, we decided to take out two boats full of eager fishermen to enjoy the slick calm waters and great fishing!  These two boats came home with coolers overflowing with Sea Bass, Blue Line Tile Fish, Wreck Fish, Barrel Fish, Black Belly Rose Fish, Golden Tile Fish, Grouper, and Blue Fish.  In these waters that reached up to 800 feet, we were able to reel in several citation Sea Bass and Blue Line Tile Fish! Our Sea Bass weighed up to 7 pounds, while the largest Blue Line Tile Fish weighed in at 17 pounds.  Our record catch of the day was a Wreck Fish that amounted to 20 pounds!  Overall, it was an excellent day at sea for the fishermen of Rudee Tours!  Just a reminder, this was the last 17 hour trip on Saturday’s until the fall.  Now, our 17 hour deep drop runs every Thursday throughout the summer.  If you want to inquire about making a reservation for a future 17 hour trip, give us a call at 757-425-3400 between 7 AM and 7 PM daily!

Our half days are fishing at the mouth of the bay catching mainly Croaker.  They run daily from 8 AM- 12 PM and 1:30 PM- 5:30 PM.  The fishing has been great but the fish have been on the smaller side!

We had a nice fishing trip this past weekend. We were finally able to get out on the water after a long stretch of bad weather. We didn’t get a chance to fish in the deep water because it was breezy, so we stayed a little further inshore. We had some Blue fish, and some really nice size Tile fish reaching up to 18 1/2 Lbs! Despite the sharks biting, we had some overall good fishing. We are still running these 17 Hour trips every Saturday until the end of May. Call for your reservation!

We Bass fished most of the day, and it paid off with every Angler catching there limit. We had sizes up to 6lbs. There were a large number of citations. We also had a few Tile fish and some Blue Fish. The dog sharks were bad and the weather was rough during the day, but it calmed down in the evening and we had a beautiful ride home after a great day of fishing!

We added a 17 Hour Off shore trip for Thursday February 28th. This is the last day to fish for Sea Bass. We have plenty of spots available, so call the office for your reservations!
